Adobe House Farm.

Adobe House Farm

The mission at Adobe House Farm is to provide the freshest fruits and vegetables to the local Durango, CO community using regenerative farming practices. They plant with diversity so that they do not have to use any pesticides, herbicides or synthetic fertilizers. They have an innovative solar-heated greenhouse and several high tunnels that allow them to grow vegetables year-round without the use of propane or natural gas heaters. Every year they farm, they help build soil and retain moisture by practicing minimal-tillage techniques and heavily applying mulch and compost from locally available inputs (such as coffee grounds, leaves, and manure from vegetarian animals fed with organic hay). They also hand-water and use drip irrigation to save water. Minimal machinery is used and all harvesting is done by hand.

EsoTerra Ciderworks.

EsoTerra Ciderworks

Elizabeth and Jared employ values of cider making in the European style, in which simplicity reigns. No coloring, no flavoring, and no additives--not even sugar. They create masterfully crafted hard ciders and wines, rooted in the history of the region, and are doing their part to revive the almost-abandoned apple industry in the wild Southwest. They support regional small agriculture, which carries forward unreplicable culture, and cares for irreplaceable ancient trees and orchards.

They delight and inspire deep-rooted community connection between the adventurers, fine spirit and food lovers, artists and visionaries, and all who are prepared to enjoy the exquisite fruits of their labors.

Mountain Belle Flower Farm.

Mountain Belle Flower Farm

Mountain Belle Flower Farm grows an abundance of seasonal, unique, heirloom flowers carefully selected for their beauty and long vase life; as well as being favorable for Colorado's cool, high-elevation climate. Every single flower they grow is hand planted, lovingly tended in a sustainable manner, and harvested at its prime with absolutely zero harmful chemicals!

Mountain Belle Flower Farm was founded in 2016 by owner Elaine Ottman. "We grow our flowers on rented land, leased from the Gardens at James Ranch. For over two decades the Wheeling family of the James Ranch has tended this wonderfully productive plot of land, supplying the Durango area not only with wonderful vegetables, but with gorgeous flowers as well. As the Wheelings have downsized their operation and focused on winter squash, Mountain Belle Flower Farm is proud and delighted to be continuing a longstanding flower-growing legacy at the Gardens at James Ranch."

The James Ranch Market has Mountain Belle's fresh flowers for sale during the growing season most every day we are open.
